Ed Young, LeaderTalk Producer, Editor, Marketing Strategist

Whether it is state-of-the-art Internet outreach, business development creativity, or traditional public relations, Ed Young brings a wide range of expertise to the challenges our clients face.

A writer who earned his first paid by-line at age seven, Ed is an internationally recognized sales and marketing expert who has been with Emedia Marketing since the beginning. A native of New York City, he was an Asian Studies major at Hampshire College and is a product of the publishing program at Stanford.

Ed began his career at Bantam Doubleday Dell, where he created the first nationally distributed sales and marketing newsletter in the publishing industry. As Director of Sales and Marketing for Santa Monica Press, he helped guide that boutique publisher to national prominence. His consulting clients have included Tribune Interactive (latimes.com), Zappos.com (the largest shoe retailer on the Internet), Distri-Thai/Bookazine (the largest book importer and distributor in Southeast Asia) and John Wiley & Sons.

He has contributed to numerous national and regional publications and is the founding editor of Planetflamenco.com. When a friend, rising flamenco star Maria Isabel Fernandez, was brutally murdered, he directed an international media campaign that found her killer (a fugitive in Mexico) when law enforcement agencies came up short. His work on the case was praised by Mexican journalist Maria Antonieta Collins in her book, “Cuando El Monstruo Despierta.”
